School Plan for Consolidated Programs
|
GOAL STATEMENT
All students, including those whose primary language is other than
English, will be actively engaged in a rigorous school program
authentically assessed and will include using and applying technology
to access and respond to information.
|
ASSESSMENT & NEEDS SUMMARY
Findings of Staff, Curriculum Committees, Leadership Team
1. All students need to be technologically literate in
today's society, especially being able to access and communicate
information.
2. There is a need for hands-on, minds-on approach to
learning math and science away from a textbook driven curriculum.
|
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Sheehy School supports the constructivist thinking, meaning centered
curriculum and instruction as outlined by the state frameworks and
district grade level expectancies. Emphasis placed on aligning
each classroom's curriculum and instruction to the frameworks.
Sheehy recognizes the importance of preparing our students for the 21st
century which would include preparing students technologically.
Currently, students use the computer lab and their classroom
computer. Many students also use math manipulatives and
calculators.
|
