Students from Charles Wright Elementary School had a chance to meet with City of Merced firefighters and even spray a fire hose during a fun and educational field trip Thursday morning. Dozens of Merced City School District students are enjoying new clothes and backpacks thanks to caring community members who organized a special shopping event at Target. The Active 20-30 Club of Merced held its annual “ChildSpree” on September 10th. The group is made up of local residents in their 20’s and 30’s who are dedicated to improving the lives of children in Merced County. The Merced City School District proudly participated in this year’s “Cap & Town” street fair in downtown Merced on September 10th. The event was a celebration of academic excellence throughout our community. Bands from Cruickshank, Hoover, and Tenaya gave skillful performances under the direction of their talented teachers and enjoyed a great response from the crowd.
